3 Weird Things That Will Help Your Facebook Parties
1. Having Your Hostess Try Your Products
With Mary Kay I offer complimentary facials to all of my customers/prospective customers. I can sell all over the country, because we don't have "territories." For people who are far away I do facial mailer packages. I send these out for free. This gets the hostess excited before the party because she got GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!
2. Coach Your Hostess Through The Process.
Tell your hostess exactly what she needs to do and offer incentives for helping with the "money making activities" that she helps you with.3. Message EACH of the Guests and Offer Your Services
This is how you get referrals. Make sure you don't go overboard! I only message the customer once offering a complimentary facial.
It can also work in reverse!
If you are doing facial mailers and offering that to the customers that have been referred to you, ask if they would be interested in earning bonuses and free products by hosting a mailer/skype facial!

Surprise! You're a Leader! Three Leadership Lessons.
Leader: (n) a guiding or directing head, as of an army, movement, or political group.
Something I have been noticing more and more are little comments that people make that indicate to me that they view me in some ways as a leader. Example: Teach me to...
Whether it is cooking, applying makeup, proper skin care or anything else I have learned how to do well.
It is an exciting feeling because I would like to be a good leader, and I feel that I am developing the qualities of a good leader. It is nice to get positive affirmation of that.
The three lessons I have learned of leadership over the years are:
- Good Leaders are in the front lines.
- I learned this from several history lessons in school. It's been a while, so I don't remember which leaders did this. For some reason I think of Napoleon, Alexander the Great and George Washington.
- Anything you ask other people to do, you have to be willing to do.
- Good Leaders make others feel good about themselves
- Good Leaders are good listeners
- We all know that person who is in a leadership position where it goes to their head and they only listen to their own ideas. It is really frustrating to "follow" these people. Not only does listening to people develop trust and rapport which is important for successful leadership, one person does not have all of the awesome ideas. As you listen you get access to a database to a treasure trove of ideas.

Fondue and Facials
For a little while I've had this idea that I wanted to do Fondue and Facials. I had a couple obstacles that I had to overcome.
- I don't have a fondue pot.
- I found a really awesome recipe for chocolate fondue without the pot.
- I live at home so I had to coordinate with my parents for scheduling.
- My parents and I had a "business meeting" where we talked about scheduling and what days would be opportune for doing parties.
- I don't know who to invite.
- I made a post on Facebook and tagged a couple friends I thought might be interested (about seven friends)

What do I know about makeup?
Hi! I'm Lisa Reid Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay. I began my journey in April of this year.
That may leave you wondering. What do you know about makeup and skin care? Why should I read your blog? I'll tell you!
Not much... Yet!
At the beginning of this year I knew almost nothing about makeup and skin care. For Christmas my sister gave me a set of professional brushes and a palette of eye shadows and blushes. There I began my journey.
A little bit later I finally (after two years considering it) took the plunge and became a Mary Kay consultant. Since then I have begun to learn about the wonderful world of beauty.
I've started this blog to record my thoughts and experiences. I plan on learning all that I can about makeup and perhaps I can bring you some awesome tips in the process!
